Dawn and Shirley are both fully qualified and insured swimmming teachers.
Shirley Cross:
Shirley qualified as a swimming teacher back in 1992. since then she has acquired vast experience as a teacher, whilst working for Wadebridge Leisure Centre.
Over the years she has added to her portfolio, obtaining a Level 2 certificate in aquatic teaching of Parents and Baby, including pre-school children.
Most recently she has qualified as a Tutor with the STA (Swimming Teachers Association) which means she can train people who wish to be swimming teachers.
Dawn Haden:
Dawn first started teaching 34 years ago when as a synchro swimmer she would give up her training nights to teach the younger members of the club. At 17 she was assistant coach at one of the top West Midlands Swimming clubs, but her true passion was in teaching rather than coaching.
From there she went on to teach after school lessons in her old home town of Walsall and after a few years break, to start a family, she returned to teaching once agin. Seven years ago Dawn moved to Cornwall and started working at Wadebridge Leisure Centre as a swimming teacher. She still works there doing school swimming classes, as well as running Kernow Splahers with Shirley.
Her years of experience and knowledge within the swimming world have contributed to her being one of the top swimming teachers in Cornwall today, along with Shirley.
